Anne-Marie Bainbridge

Anne-Marie is a passionate and energetic Diversity and Inclusion specialist with over 20 years’ experience in a variety of organisations and sectors, including housing, transport, legal, criminal justice, media, the NHS, education, central and local government.  She demonstrates strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Anne-Marie is also an excellent facilitator and coach with the ability to interpret complex organisational objectives into interactive and participative learning interventions. She possesses expertise in working with executive and senior leaders. She helps them recognise their responsibilities in creating inclusive organisational cultures.

Anne-Marie has a long history of delivering leadership training within a broad spectrum of organisations for many years. More recently, she has focused on working with organisations and individuals to look at how they can move from being ‘not racist’ to ‘anti-racist’ reviewing how their systems, processes, practices and procedures can hold racism in place. This work often requires difficult, challenging and necessary conversations.

Anne-Marie’s commitment to this work is strengthened by her membership of Anti Racist Cumbria. The organisation’s mission is to make Cumbria the first anti-racist county in the country. Through this role, she works with local Cumbrian schools to help them demonstrate an ethos of being actively anti-racist. She is also a Trustee for the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, where the mission is to bring innovative and diverse experiences to audiences. In addition, she is a member of Cumbria Constabulary’s Strategic Independent Advisory Group. She works with colleagues to ensure that anti-racism remains central to ongoing conversations.
