Anne-Marie is a passionate and energetic Diversity and Inclusion specialist with over 20 years’ experience in a variety of organisations and sectors, including housing, transport, legal, criminal justice, media, the NHS, education, central and local government. She demonstrates strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, is an excellent facilitator and coach with the ability to interpret complex organisational objectives into interactive and participative learning interventions. She possesses expertise in working with executive and senior leaders assisting them to recognise their responsibilities in creating inclusive organisational cultures.
Anne-Marie has a long history of delivering leadership training within a broad spectrum of organisations and more recently, a significant part of Anne-Marie’s work involves working with organisations and individuals to look at how they can move from being ‘not racist’ to ‘anti-racist’ reviewing how their systems, processes, practices and procedures can hold racism in place – this has involved some difficult and challenging but necessary conversations.
Enhancing all the work Anne-Marie has been passionate about is her membership of Anti Racist Cumbria which has a mission to make Cumbria the first anti-racist county in the country, which has involved working with local Cumbrian schools to assist them to demonstrate an ethos of being actively anti-racist. She is a Trustee for Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal where the mission is to bring innovative and diverse experiences to its audiences and is also a member of Cumbria Constabulary’s Strategic Independent Advisory Group working with colleagues to ensure that anti-racism is regularly highlighted.
