Mental Health & Wellbeing

As with physical health we all have mental health that varies by individual and can fluctuate over time. Mental illness is one of the most rapidly increasing causes of long-term sickness absence. Poor mental health and wellbeing can have incredibly adverse effects on the workforce and individuals’ ability to perform and thrive. With the pace of change and demands on today’s workforce it’s more critical to bring awareness of mental health to the forefront of people’s consciousness.

Organisations can have a major influence on their people’s sense of wellbeing, creating awareness and giving the confidence and skills that provide support at earlier/preventative stages through awareness and proactive ways.

A VA Mental Health Awareness workshop will provide your people with the information and resources they need to:

  • Maintain good mental health.
  • Encourage honest, open conversations about the effects of stress, anxiety and depression.
  • Outline steps to proactively address issues if and when they come up.

This can have a multitude of benefits for the organisation that lead to:

  • Better performance
  • Reduced costs
  • Higher creativity.

“Mental health is defined as a state of mental and psychological wellbeing in which every individual realises their potential, and can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their place of work” World Health Organisation
